Sono anni che la Polizia marcia durante il Pride di Londra e ieri la Royal Marine ha fatto la storia unendosi al corteo.
Ieri in un'intervista rilasciata al Portsmouth News, il tenente comandante Mike Hill ha dichiarato:
"Sono passati quasi 20 anni da quando è stato eliminato il divieto di uscire allo scoperto per le persone LGBT nell'esercito. Molte persone al di fuori dalle forze armate però sono ancora convinte che le nostre siano organizzazioni lontane dalla comunità LGBT.
Questo non potrebbe essere più lontano dalla verità. La Royal Navy e i Royal Marines riconoscono che c'è forza nella diversità e le moderne forze armate accolgono persone di ogni orientamento.
Vi assicuro che accogliamo volentieri nelle nostre fila i talenti di tutti gli orientamenti e le identità di genere".
Speriamo di vedere nei prossimi anni scene simili anche ai nostri Pride italiani.
